30 Things I Have Learnt in London



  1. The London Underground (a.k.a The Tube) is not always under ground 
  2. It is completely acceptable to sit, lay, or sleep by yourself in a park. 
  3. Cigarettes only come in 10 and 20 packs. Kind of annoying really 
  4. The park across the road from my flat has a cafe which has £2 latte's 
  5. The Tube is by far the best for of public transport I have ever been on 
  6. 'Keep Right' signs are all through the tube stations and if you stand on the left people get angry
  7. If the sky is blue in London there is no reason whatsoever to stay inside 
  8. The sun sets around 8.30 - 9.00pm. Apparently it sets later as the summer comes 
  9. Birds sing from the trees around my flat at 3am 
  10. Twitter is a bigger thing than Facebook over here 
  11. Rent and Real estate prices are ridiculous
  12. The city has a problem with bike theft
  13. Also a problem with bikes being chained up on the street paths
  14. Costa coffee is incredible 
  15. The standard large take away is the same size of my face. 
  16. And only £3.05 
  17. I sat in the park writing this and there was a man with a pet cockatoo on his shoulder (he was not a pirate)
  18. There is free wi-fi, like everywhere
  19. Don't take a cab from zone 1 to zone 3 at peak hour (that lesson cost me £54)
  20. Citymapper is the greatest app and has saves my ass so many times   
  21. Hyde Park has bird holes in the bottom of the lamp posts
  22. Squirrels are everywhere and they are as cute as they are harmless
  23. E-cigarettes are a big thing over here
  24.  Chavs are a real thing and they are intimidating 
  25. Same with Lads 
  26. Too many girls have black eyebrows drawn on with light hair and skin 
  27. The Tube Map is not geographically correct 
  28. You can rent a bike for £2 for 24 hours 
  29. I have learnt to appreciate the sun
  30. London is just like in the movies
